    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Butter Crock.


    It was made by the Red Wing Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936).  They came in 3 and 5 pound sizes.  This is the 3 pound size (Dan and Gail DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Collectibles, p. 142).


    Made about 1920, this beauty features "Butter" Framed by Two Stripes.  Has the original lid and bail handle.  Measures 5 1/2" tall and 6 1/4" wide across the top.

     

    Excellent Condition.  The base has two minor flakes on the underside (1/8", 1/4").  Otherwise as made.  The lid has pinhead-size nibbles and a minor 1/4" ping line on the underside edge.  Otherwise as made.
