Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Small Blue and White Spongeware Butter Crock. 
 
It features a very unusual message inscribed on the bottom: "U B 1 X10, Top Heavy."  Looks like it was used as note paper when wet??
 
Circa 1900, this beauty features a Small Size, Dark Cobalt Sponging, and the Unusual Message.  Measures 3" tall and 4 3/4" wide across the top.  
 
Very Good Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble on the rim and very faint 1 1/2" hairline from the rim (won't photograph).  No inner rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.   A kiln touch on the rim in the making (picture 4).
