Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock with Freehand Decoration from Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Circa 1865, this beauty features a Grooved Rim for Ease of Tying a Cover over the Top, and Top to Bottom Freehand Decoration. From the top down are a straight and wavy stripe, delicate vining with three fushcia blossoms, another wavy stripe, the capacity number flanked by three wavy stripes, more delicate vining, and a bottom straight stripe. Additional cobalt accents at the handle terminals. Measures 12" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A couple minor nibbles on the left handle. Otherwise as made! Slightly out of round on the top in the making.
