    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Porter & Fraser, West Troy, N.Y."

     

    This is the work of Nathan Porter and George Fraser who worked together in West Troy from 1846 to 1863 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).

     

    This beauty features a Crisp Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash.  Stands 10 1/2" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  A 1" chip on the bottom of the left side and some stain runs on both sides.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A firing line from the rim down the shoulder in the back in the making and glazed over (closeup).
