Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by Peter Hermann.  
 
Peter Hermann made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore, Maryland from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).  
 
This beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim designed to allow a wax covered paper or cloth to be tied securely around the top, and a Double Floral on Each Side Executed in Strong Cobalt.  Stands 10" tall.
 
Good Condition.  A narrow 1/4" flake on the rim and a 4" hairline from the rim (to my pen in the closerup).  No inner rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
