Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped "Penn Yan".
This is the work of either George Campbell or James Mantell who bought the Campbell factory and potted in Penn Yan, New York from 1856-1876 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72-73).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Growing up the Front. The tulip has four leaves and a blossom with six petals. Stands 9" tall. Comes with a lid that fits, but not quite the right color.
Excellent Condition. Eight 1/8" nibbles inside the rim and two outside the rim. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Slightly out of round on top in the making.
