Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher made and stamped by "P. H. Smith."

 

This is the mark of Phillip Smith who made pottery in Springfield Township, Ohio in the 1840's and 1850's under this stamp (See F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware , pp. 79-80).

 

This pitcher comes from the Treichler Collection. 

 

Made around the 1850's, this beauty has a Square Rim, Tall Neck, Bulbous Body, and Impressed Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder.  Stands 10 3/4" tall.  

 

Excellent Condition.  A single 3/8" chip on the rim on one side.  Otherwise as made.
