Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for "McCarthey & Bayless, Louisville, KY."
 
It was made in SW Pennsylvania in Greensboro by either Hamilton or Hamilton and Jones. 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring the Hot Wax Sealer, and Top and One Bottom Stripes that frame the Company Advertising in Four Lines Accented with Decorative Ovals.  Very thick and dark cobalt.  Stands 9" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A 3/4" chip on the inner rim, four small chips inside the outer rim (1/8" to 1/4"), and a 3/8" chip at the base.  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
