Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this unusual 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Maurice A. Knight, Acid Proof Chemical Stoneware, Akron, Ohio USA." 

 

Maurice Knight began is pottery in the old Weeks Brothers pottery in Akron, Ohio in 1909 and focused on making stoneware for industry that was chemical resistant (F. Robert Treichler, More History of Ohio Stoneware, pp. 32-34). 

 

Dating to the early 20th century, this jug features "#5 Parson's Generator" Incised on the Front and the Company Stamp with Center Profile of a Knight below.  Apparently, this jug was used to hold chemicals used in generators.  Stands 14" tall.

 

Very Good Condition.  The jug has a coat of red and gray paint.  The only damage visible is chippage around the bottom spigot hole.
