Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "Ortmann & Hoerlein, Utica, N.Y."
It was made by Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
This beauty features the Company Advertising in Three Lines of Bold Cobalt Lettering. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
