Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantabulous 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by the "New York Stoneware Company, Fort Edward, N.Y."
This company was in operation in Fort Edward, New York from 1859-1885.
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Bird on a Branch created with a Slip Cup in Brilliant Cobalt. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Notice the vertical waves in the clay. This crock was dried before firing while wrapped in cheese cloth for a more even drying process.
Excellent Condition. A narrow 1" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
