Item 7024
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Special Stoneware 2 Gallon Cream Pot made and stamped by "N. Clark, Jr., Athens, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Nathan Clark, Jr. of Athens, N.Y. who ran the family pottery from 1843-1891 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66).
This beauty sports a Cream Pot Form with Semi-Squared Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and an Intricate Floral Executed with a Slip Cup. Typically this maker's decorations are brushed, but this one is finely drawn with six blossoms, and three leaves created with squiggle lines and dots! All the cobalt is bright and shiny too. One of the best Clarks for decoration that I have seen in a very long time. Measures 9" tall and 10 1/4" wide across the top.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind!
