Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1.5 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and Stamped by "N. A. White & Son, Utica, N.Y."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features a Small Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Stamped Capacity Number, and a Brushed Cobalt Orchid with Two Leaves and Five Blossoms. Vivid Cobalt. Measures 7 3/4" tall and 9 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip on the right handle, a 3/4" chip on the underside at the edge, and some very light staining from use. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
