Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Script Jug made for the Merchant "Morris Harris, Wines & Liquors, Amsterdam, N.Y." "

It is marked "Lyons, N.Y." and was probably  made by Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

This beauty features Three Lines of Script Advertising.  Stands 13" tall.

I cannot find another jug made for this merchant and only a handful of script  jugs made for merchants in Amsterdam.

Very Good Condition.  A 3/4" chip on the left side of the spout toward the back, two narrow 3/4" chips on the underside at the edge, and a small stain on the back near the bottom.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
