Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Cream Pot made and stamped by "M. Woodruff, Cortland."
This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).
This beauty sports the Cream Pot Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Two Freehand Tulips Rising from a Bulb! Measures 10" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the rim above the left handle, a few glaze nibbles below the pottery stamp, and a faint stain run behind the right handle. No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
