    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Preserve Jar stamped "Lyons."  

     

    It is easily attributed to Jacob Fisher who made pottery in Lyons, New York from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74). 

     

    This beauty features the Town Name "Lyons" with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand Capacity Number 2, and a Brushed Cobalt Leaf Decoration.   Stands 11 1/4" tall. 

     

    Very Good Condition.  Minor nibbles on the lid seating ring inside, and a faint 2" hairline from the rim in the back that stops inside at the seating ring (closeup).  No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
