    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this sweet 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made in and stamped for "Lyons." 

     

    This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).

     

    This beauty a Small Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Freehand "1" Capacity Numbers on Each Side of an Orchid Blossom.  Bright and shiny cobalt as was typical of Lyons stoneware.  Measures only 6 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.   

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the bottom of the left side.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Exceptionally clean.450
