Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "L. Lehman & Co., West 12th St., N.Y."   
 
This is the work of Louis Lehman who potted in New York from 1858-1863 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 63).  
 
This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash, and Gorgeous Floral Executed by an Expert Hand.  The flower has two smaller buds at the base and two larger ones on top.  Bright cobalt makes the decoration shine.  Stands 13 1/2" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Some very light staining on the lower half, and a 3/16" chip on the left side of the spout.   That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Drying lines on the sides of the base of the handle (back picture) and on the front bottom (closeup) in the making and glazed over.
