Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Merchant Script Jug made for "John F. Malone, 148 to 156 Main St., Buffalo, N.Y."
It was made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y." Jacob Fisher made pottery in Lyons, New York from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder and Four Lines of Bright and Shiny Script Advertising. Stands 13 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A stain on the back. Otherwise mint!
