Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Pitcher made and stamped by "John Burger, Rochester." 
 
This is the mark of John Burger who founded the family's pottery under this stamp and ran it from 1854-1867 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports a Sleek Tall and Narrow Form with Tooled Rim and Pinched Spout, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Gorgeous Tulip Blossom Executed with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt.   The blossom has five leaves-- all with accent stripes.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.
 
Very Good Condition. Two small flat worn chips on the top of the rim (1/8",  1/4"), and three chippies on the spout (closeup).  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
