Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "John Burger, Rochester." 
 
This is the mark of John Burger who founded the family's pottery in Rochester, NY under this stamp and ran it from 1854-1867 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Capacity Number Nestled in a Grouping of Three Leaves.  The leaves were created with a slip cup using bright and shiny cobalt.  Stands 14 14" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some staining at the shoulder.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
