Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, is this wonderful 9" Canning Jar made and stamped on the shoulder by "John Bell, Waynesboro."

 

This is the mark of John Bell who worked in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania from 1833-1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 47-50).

 

This beauty features a Tooled Rim designed for a Lid, Cobalt Sponging around the Rim and Shoulder, and a Clear Pottery Stamp.  Stands 9" tall.  Comes with a form fitting lid that is old, but probably not the original.

 

Excellent Condition.  Three 1/4" chips outside the rim. That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The lid has chips around. The knob.
