Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim, Slightly Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising in an Arch.  Bold Cobalt.  Stands 9" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Two chips on the inner rim (1/4", 1"), and two inside the outer rim (1/4", 3/8").  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
