Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "James Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Grooved Rim for the Hot Wax Sealer and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape that Surrounds a Center Tobacco Leaf.  Stands 8" tall. 
 
One of the best James Hamilton Wax Sealers out there. 
 
Very Good Condition.  An inverted U-shaped ping on the rim on the left side and some glaze wear below it.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Stone ping on the back in the making.
