Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Little 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. S. Taft & Company, Keene, N.H."
This is the mark of James Scholly Taft and his uncle, James Burnap who sold pottery under this stamp from 1871-1874 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 39).
This beauty sports Small Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral. Measures 7 1/4" tall and 8" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Water glass staining inside and some traces outside, and some exfoliation on the underside. No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
