Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Wax Sealer Canning Jar made and stamped by "Adams, Allison & Co., Manufacturers, Middlebury, Summit Co., O." [Ohio]
This is the work of Frank Adams and Byron Allison who made wax sealers in Middlebury, Ohio in the 1860's and beyond (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, p. 50).
This beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with the Grooved Rim for Pouring Hot Wax to Seal the Jar with a Tin Cap and the Company Advertising Stamped at the Base. Stands 7 5/8" tall.
Very Good Condition. Two chips on the inner rimi (1/8", 3/8"), a chip inside the outer rim, and a 3/4" chip at the base. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
