Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1 Gallon Jug made for the merchant, "J. Langan, West Troy. N.Y."
 
Langan ran a liquor business on Broadway in West Troy, selling brandies, wines, gins, rums, and scotch and Irish whiskes.  The jug comes with a laminated advertisement by Langan extracted from the 1883 West Troy, Troy, and Cohoes City Directory. 
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tall and Narrow Form with Bold Block Letter Advertising.  The letters of the merchant name are a full 1" tall and those of the address are 3/4" tall.  Stands 11 3/4" tall
 
Excellent Condition.  A pinhead-size nibble on the spout and bottom tip of the handle, and a 1/4" chip at the base.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
