Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Freehand Capacity Number "2" Surrounded by Rays of Sunshine. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip on the back of the right handle and three 1/4" flake at the base below. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. What looks like a horizontal crack in the back is a slight recess on the bottom portion of the crock in the making.
