Item 12602
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Andrew K. Haxstun and William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1867-1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Blue Bird on a Branch Decoration. The decorator got carried away with dots on the bird and the branch! Good for us! This woodland scene is executed with a slip cup in shiny cobalt blue. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" nibble on the left handle, four small rust stains, and traces of water glass staining from use. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A stone ping on the inside bottom in the making.
