    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."

     

    This is the stamp of Andrew K. Haxstun and William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1867-1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).

     

    This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Bird on a Branch Executed with a Slip Cup in Very Bright Cobalt Blue. The decoration was signature for the potteries of Fort Edward.  This bird is was drawn by a confident artist.  Measures 12 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A flat 1/4" flake and 1/2" surface-only ping line on the right side of the spout (closeup), and some light staining from use.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
