Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this little 1 Gallon Preserve Crock made and stamped by "F. Ohmann, Lyons, N.Y."

 

Frederick Ohmann was a skilled potter who worked from Jacob Fisher and went independent from 1897 to 1898 when his pottery burned down (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, p. 367. 

 

This jar was made for the merchant "M. Hasselbeck, 594 Jefferson St., Buffalo, N. Y."

 

This beauty features a the Pottery Stamp and the Merchant Advertising Incised in Three Lines on the Front. Stands 8 1/4" tall.

 

Excellent Condition. A couple pinhead-size nibbles on the rim and a 1/4" chip on the right handle.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A stone ping above the right handle in the making.
