Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and the Company Advertising Under a Double Row of Squares and in an Arch Around a Floral on the Front.  Exceptionally strong stenciling with dark cobalt and crisp lines, and equally exceptional contrast between the light gray glaze and dark cobalt.   Stands 9 3/4" tall. 
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A stone ping  in the top stripe in the making.
