Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "G. Apley & Co., Ithaca, N.Y."
 
This is the work of Griswold Apley who ran the pottery in Ithaca from 1860-1862 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip with Base Leaves and Two Blossoms.  The cobalt is bright and shiny. Stands 11 1/4" tall
 
Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the underside and some staining from use.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A drying/firing line on the underside in the making.
