Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute 1 Gallon Crock made and stamped by " F. J. Caire, Huntington, L.I."
This is the work of Frederick J. Caire who ran the pottery in Huntington from 1854-1863 (William J. Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 64).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, and a Cobalt Sideways Tulip with 14 Leaves and a Blossom with 8 Petals. An additional little leaf accompanies it. Measures 7 1/4" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A flat 3/8" chip on the rim behind the left ear, and some scattered light staining from use. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
