Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantabulous 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "E. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."
This is the mark of Edward Norton who ran the Norton Pottery in Bennington from 1881-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Cobalt Floral Bouquet. The bouquet fills the front with dots, leaves, buds, and blossoms! The cobalt is shiny and really stands out! Measures 11 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the rim and a 3/8" chip inside the back of the left handle. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
