Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Clark & Co., Rochester." 
 
This is the work of Nathan Clark who ran the pottery in Athens, New York and this satellite pottery in Rochester, New York from 1839 to 1851 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, pp. 372, 377). 
 
This beauty sports a Semi-Ovoid Form, Tall Neck with Squared Spout, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt "1" Capacity Number.  Stands 11 1/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Three minor pinhead-size nibbles on the spout and typical surface wear.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
