    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Batter Jug from Central Pennsylvania.  

     

    Circa 1870, this beauty feature a Large Brushed Cobalt Floral Blossom Hugging the Spout and Cobalt Accents on the Ears and Back Bottom Handle.  Retains the old tin cap for the top and spout.  Replaced bail handle.  Stands 9" tall. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  Small glaze flakes off the front of the back bottom handle and a 3/4" chip on the bottom of the left side.  That's it!  No spout or rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Surface drying/firing lines around the applied spout and ears in the making. 

     

    The tin lid for the top has a 1/4" hole and no longer retains the small center ring for lifting it off.  The tin lid for the spout is in great condition.
