    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 8" Staffordshire Child's Plate with "Good Humour" Moral.  

     

    Dating around 1830, this beauty features a Fancy Embossed Rim with a Center Transfer Print of a Mother and Child in a Garden with the mother sitting and the child picking flowers.  The series was called "Flowers That Never Fade" with each plate highlighting a moral virtue.  This one is "Good Humour" and reads, "Good humour is the greatest charm That children can possess.  It makes them happy, &, whats more, It gives them power to bless." 

     

    Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
