Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Chollar, Darby & Co., Cortland." 
 
This is the work of Thomas Chollar and Joseph Darby who owned the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1835 to 1849 when Darby retired and the pottery was sold to Madison Woodruff (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, pp. 313-319).
 
This beauty sports an Early Ovoid Shape, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Double Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 13" tall.
 
Very Good Condition. A ping above the pottery stamp with surface line to each side (closeup), and two minor short surface lines on the back bottom (1", 1 1/2") wrapping under (1 1/2", 1"), one of which is in the making.
