Item 7201
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "C. J. Ortman, Utica, N.Y."
The jug was clearly made by the Whites' Pottery of Utica, N.Y. circa 1880.
This beauty features Cobalt Trim on the Spout and Handle, and the Merchant Advertising Stenciled on the Front in Bold Lettering. Quite unique is the little chalice in the middle of the label! Apparently this jug held wine at one time.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip on the top and an 1/8" nibble on the side of the spout, and a flat 1/2 chip on the underside at the edge. That's it! No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
