Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made by "C. F. Orcutt & Co., Albany, N.Y." 

 

This is the work of Eleazer Orcutt and his sons, Charles and Edwin of Albany.  Eleazer founded the pottery in 1853 and it remained in the family until 1862 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed., pp 163-64). 

 

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Whimsical Floral Decoration Never Seen in the Wild!  It is executed with a slip cup with extreme precision and 42 Dots!  Measures 8 3/4" tall and 10" wide across the top. 

 

Excellent Condition. Two 1/4" chips inside the rim, a 1" chip on the rim in the back, a 1 1/4" chip on the bottom edge on the back (closeup), and some scattered staining.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
