Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "C. Boynton & Co., Troy."
 
This is the work of Calvin Boynton who ran a pottery in Troy, N.Y. from 1829-1835 (See William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).
 
This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip in Deep and Shiny Cobalt.  The tulip has 5 leaves and a blossom with 7 petals.  Stands 14" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A minor 3/16" flake on the spout, a 1/2" chip at the base, and minor staining from use.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
