Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Burger & Lang, Rochester, N.Y." 
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr., George Burger, and their brother-in-law, George Lang who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1867-1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74). 
 
This beauty sports the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a signature decoration for this maker: An Elaborate Cobalt Daisy Executed with a Slip Cup. The daisy sports five leaves and a blossom with five petals.  The decoration is shaded with small lines throughout.  Stands 14 1/2" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Typical manufacturing imperfections.
