Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Brady and Ryan, Ellenville, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Samuel Brady and John J. Ryan who ran their pottery in Ellenville from 1878-1897 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Classic Bird on a Stump Decoration. The decoration is executed with shiny cobalt. The chicken is proudly poised on the stump which is dotted and situated in ground cover. Measures 10 1/4" tall and 10 3/4" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A faint 7" hairline across the bottom that does not reach either side (closeup). Otherwise as made. No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
