Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Teapot with Original Lid.
Circa 1900-1920, this Beauty Features a Bulbous Form with Graceful Spout, Raised Circles around the Shoulder, a Wire Handle with Wooden Grip, and Blue Swirl Stripes! Comes with the original lid with acron knob. Measures 6 1/4" tall to the top of the lid, and 8" wide from the tip of the spout to the tip of the handle.
This teapot is discussed in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 913. As you know these teapots are uncommon, especially with the correct lid.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the top of the spout and a 1/4" chip on the top of the side of one handle holder. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has a narrow 1/2" chip on the top edge. Otherwise, as made.
