Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Salt Crock in the Apple Blossom Pattern.
This crock is discused in Terry Taylor and Terry & Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 126.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Diamond Background that Hosts "Salt" on the Front and Framed by Apple Blossoms. The lid repeats the apple blossom pattern around the edge. Diffused blue coloration. Measures 5 3/4" tall and wide.
Excellent Condition. The base has a few pinhead-size or smaller nibbles inside the rim. That's it! No other chips or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has a 1/4" flake on the top at the edge. Nothing else to report.
As you know, not a common pattern in blue and white salt crocks.
