Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is an uncommon piece of stoneware: a Blue and White Basketweave and Morning Glory Butter Crock with Lid.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty Resembles a Covered Basket with "Butter" in Raised Letters on the Front and Morning Glories on the Back. The coloring is diffused blue with the top and bottom blue and the center white. Measures 4" tall and 7" wide.
This beauty is featured in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, on page 107.
Excellent Condition The base has a shallow 3/4" chip on the top of the unglazed rim. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has two minro 1/8" nibbles on the top and bottom edges. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
