Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Butter Crock in the Fall Harvest Pattern.
Made in the early 20th century, this beauty features a four scenes framed by columns in betwee, scrollwork on the top, and fencing on the bottom. The scenes feature combinations of cows and sheaves of wheat just harvested. Diffused blue coloration. Measures 4 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" wide.
This pattern is uncommon and one of the most detailed of all blue and white butter crocks. It is discussed in Terry Taylor and Terry & Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 117.
Excellent Condition. A single narrow 1 1/4" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
