Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Butter Crock in the Basketweave and Morning Glory Pattern.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features an Intricate Basketweave Pattern with "Butter" on the Front and a Morning Glory on the Back. Measures 4" tall and 7" wide.
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, on p. 107. As you know, this is a very uncommon piece of blue and white stoneware.
Excellent Condition. The base has a half-dozen minor 1/8" nibbles on the edge of the platform and the lid has the same along the bottom edge from use together. That's it! No other chips, or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
