Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Butter Crock in the Basketweave and Morning Glory Pattern.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features an Intricate Basketweave Pattern with "Butter" on the Front and a Morning Glory on the Back. Measures 4" tall and 7" wide.
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, on p. 107. As you know, this is a very uncommon piece of blue and white stoneware.
Good Condition. The base has a 1" chip inside the rim, a 1 1/2" hairline from the rim (closeup), and two chips on the bottom edge (1/4", 7/8"). No stains or restoration. The lid is as made. No damage. Some shallow chipping on the underside in the making.
